The automatic filing of some of my scanned documents is failing. What can I do?
Can I use this program on an Apple Macintosh or a Linux computer?
How do I handle scanned documents that are not filed successfully? Scanned documents are most often originals that were printed. The print quality of these documents can vary significantly depending on factors such as printer maintenance, ink or toner quality, paper variation, and more. These documents have often been used in the office, on the shop floor, outdoors, and more. They may be dirty, smugged, torn, written on, and more. All of these factors can make it difficult for the program to accurately read the bar code on the document. Although these documents may be difficult for the computer to read, they often can be easily read by a human being. When the automatic filing fails, these documents are moved to the problem document folder. If you are only experiencing a small percentage of failures, then the best solution is often to simply click on the Setup menu in the program and select Folders. View each folder set and click on the Open button for the folder with the problem documents. Manually open the document to view it and read it. Rename the document based on what you have read and move the document to the Filed documents folder for the folder set.
If you are experiencing a high percentage of failures, then you may need to adjust the bar code inspection parameters in the program. You can read about this in this help file and try some adjustments. If you just cannot make this work, then contact us for help.. Top
